To assure than my files were all safe, and backed up I put both audio and raw files onto 2 different hard-drives each night after filming.

I then went through each piece of raw footage and tagged it if I liked it, so that I could find it later.

For the audio files, I went through each recording and labeled it according to what we had said and written on the clap board (this board saved my life in post!). I used short hand that I understood to name the files, such as: S3R35T4WALK (scene 3, roll 35 (from shot-list), take 4, the action taking place).

Once I labeled all audio and raw footage, I imported the files I wanted into Final Cut Pro X and synced them.
